Tell me where that branch is, THEN hold your breath.

EDIT: I think you should start an auction - right now - for the contents.

I have no reason to think this manager will part with them. Actually, I probably shouldn't have let on that I was even interested...it may kill that location as a regular stop.

Washers are handy. Hang onto them :D

I started a little drawer last year to save any weird, non-money stuff that came off the magnets. The only things I throw out are pins and paper clips.

Got a couple earrings, many keys, golf ball markers, a marble (guess that must've come from the inside of the machine), washers, etc

Yeah, it's rare to break $5 on the magnet without the help of loonies & toonies.

I tend to avoid Thursday and Friday nights. They are always swamped and if I end up needing a bag change, then I can end up stuck there for a while. I don't like waiting!

On the other hand, the magnets seem to yield more treasure later in the day on busy days. The prying eyes of customers waiting in a long line can be just as annoying as the scowling tellers sometimes.

11.16 CA & 5.61 US

At one stop the machine refused to cycle after I poured in my coin. After 15 minutes of trying to restart it with no luck, the manager asked how much I thought I dumped in. I knew exactly how much...two rolls of dimes and one quarters. He offered me an extra $5 for the inconvenience.

Um, ok...I said it wasn't necessary, but he insisted

$0.35 today

And it looks like I forgot to record a previous stop where I got a rare (for me) looney - that was $1.56 total.

15.87 & 5.72 US, including 3 nice '77D Ikes.

'64 & '50 Roosevelt

Plus one other thing I got at the bank, but it needs a pic to do it justice. Right now, it's out in the garage and I'm too tired to deal with it. :P

Alrighty, here it is....who's ever got one of these babies at a bank? I'll spare you all the details, but it was a case of too many commodes not enough bathrooms...and me being in the right place at the right time.

And yeah, the bank dump jokes just write themselves here. 8-)

Got home early and went for a rare Tuesday run, 8 branches

8.60
.01 US

Just missed getting sliced open by a razor blade at the first stop. Now that I think about it, it was the same branch I got fish hooked at last year. Either someone really hates TD, or someone is sending me a message

Be careful out there kids.

6.19 & .93 US

Only had time for a few stops; I got sidetracked by a lost dog who found her way onto my backporch, then kitchen, then dove on me as I was catnapping on the couch. Vicious pomeranian from two streets down the hill.

Her owners had her micro chipped, and the collar had a toll free number to call. Pretty good system. The little girl gave me a sweet hand colored Thank You card.

Ok, I did my good deed for the week. I expect to be compensated. Maybe a lottery win...nothing huge, just a few hundred... :D

Just a report. Took my 2013 coins on our little overnight trip to Vancouver, used parts of them for parking and bottled water and then cashed in balance at Coin machine at TD, where I got to be the the center of attention for a bit, as no one with a US TD account had ever done that before there. Netted about $60, which was almost enough for a nice lunch at a top restaurant.

Nice.

So how do they keep foreign coin out of their machines without a magnet?

Dunno. They had a coinstar style machine. I didn't ask them any details. And I didn't tell them how I got the coin in the first place!

18.45 & 4.95 US, + 11 steel cents

It was nice to see a couple looneys in the mix again. Been a while. Even scored a Susie B. Anthony 8-)

I should've ransomed that pooch. Those people would've paid at least two boxes of nickels :P
