I asked this before in one of my tracking posts, but I guess it wasn't noticed...

About NIFC halves:

What are they really worth? They're not silver, but intended for collectors of mint sets. I have found a number of these in my latest halves CRH, and would like to sell them, since I'm really only interested in the silver ones. I have several 2010, and some 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, all in nice condition. I also have an unusually brilliant 1989, but not sure if it's a proof.

I looked on the bay, lots of listings but few bids. So again, how much are these worth and where should I look to sell them?

1989 Proofs are ALL 1989-S coins. However, circulation strikes sometimes look proof-like.

You won't get much for NIFCs at this time. They are just low mintage clad circulation strikes that were originally only available from the mint. What are they worth? At this time, maybe 60c each. To a collector looking to fill out a date set, they might have some value as a cheaper alternative to going to a coin dealer who would charge $1-$2 each.

9 BWR's and 27 loose - skunk! :(

This was from same bank a week earlier that I found 2 90% Kennedy's and 8 40%'s. Those were all found loose in a bag. I guess I figured out "loose" is best! :o

I'll only ask for loose next time.

Thanks for responding, Country.
Nuts. Not worth the time and energy to find a buyer for a markup of mere pennies. I'll probably just recycle them with my next batch of halves. I don't think I'll bother looking for them or noting them on this forum in the future. Just silver.

Report on dimes searched:

$125.00 -- 25 CWRs

Silver dimes found - ONE -- 1/1964
2009 dimes found - SIX

Other found - FOUR -- 1/1975 US Penny, 2/1996 US Penny, 1/1986 Republic Dominicana ten cent coin

Proof Found: 1/1987S -- I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!! :D :D :D I had hopes when I began searching rolls of coins in July 2008 that I would find a proof coin of at least one of the denominations from my son's birth year, but I really did not think it would happen. I was so excited when I found this dime, even though it isn't silver, that I had to wake up Mr. PTP and tell him, then I called my brother long distance to tell him. You would have thought I won the lottery!!! This is only my fourth proof dime that I have found searching rolls.

Other stats: One roll shorted ten cents, Three rolls shorted twenty cents each roll, One roll shorted thirty cents, One roll over ten cents, One roll over twenty cents, One roll over thirty cents -- Eight rolls out of twenty-five not correct in their count. That's a failing grade in my system. What's wrong with people???

Overage/shortage total: SHORTED 40 cents

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

I know Country already responded but thought I would tell you the info I got from a guy at the flea market. He said unless they were in the original packaging nobody would buy them as they want them in uncirculated condition and since they were pulled from other types of rolls and/or bags, then they are no longer considered uncirculated.
