Got out Friday before and during the most recent Lake Effect snowstorm this last friday....after posting a bunch of pics for the KSAs. No bling or anything cool. Just some clad, copper, zinc, and 2 keys.

12-quarters
6-dimes
3-nickels
11-copper pennies
19-zinc pennies

51 coins for $4.05

Tons of trash at this spot. Hit the usual can slaw, pulltabs, and even 2 more keys for my collection.

I wish I would have found this thread sooner.

I'm the president of the Coil and Diggers club of Lane county Oregon, at least till next months elections. :D
I'm stepping down, it's time for someone else to take the reigns for a while....

I havent kept total track of what I've found this month but I know I've found 6 rings, 2 of them silver. 1 silver cross, about a half dozen wheat cents, the oldest being 1925. 1 1923 merc, and my best find of the month so far is a 1903 Barber dime, my first Barber coin. :D

I've also found about $20 - $25 in modern pocket change this month, half a dozen keys, and a couple of pendants (non-silver).

And I use a Whites MXT in case anyone cares...

Rain yesterday and more last night got rid of a lot of the snow. I hit a park that is being upgraded. This park is next to a large high school. Lots of people and kid traffic. It produced silver and bling and lots of quarters last year.

I hit it for 3 hours. Half of the park was all torn with sewer work and some areas had fill brought in. I still did OK on clad. No silver or gold or wheats.

44-quarters
26-dimes
6-nickels
56-pennies (will update copper/zinc later)
132 coins for $14.46
Pics tomorrow.

Didn't he just have a recent UK trip. I saw on another board where a guy just got back from an outing that sounded alot like Ron's trips to the UK. Have you seen the youtube vifdeo about all of the gold he's fished out of Lake Michigan's beaches?

slightly off topic, but do they make any good metal detectors (for a beginner) with a reasonable price tag? I used to have one from radio shack, that wasnt too great and I was looking to maybe try it out again.

White's or Garrett both make entry level machines. I have owned both but have a preference to White's.

I got sick after my last hunt nearly 2 weeks ago....so I went digging this morning after work. I hit an adult softball field complex that holds a couple of fairs during the summer. First time there. This was a recon mission. The outside of the fields were OK with lots of penny signals....lots of zinc penny signals. I dug a few. Slowly I worked my way to left field on one of the softball fields. Here is where a bigger fair is held in the summer. I took care in pinpointing and cutting the smallest possible C-shaped plug. NO HOLES from this guy! Anyway, I did the "drunk-man" grid and found a few small coinspills. Man that was nice to swing in a trash-free setting. Not that I like hearing nothing when I swing, there is just so much trash EVERYWHERE I hunt. I will say I am surprised at the depth of some of the quarters I hit today. Most were a good 8 inches down. This field is mostly clay and is currently extremely wet. (squish squish) The ATPro had no issues finding these guys. It was fun to get out and get some fresh air and DIG. Only clad and copper today. No wheats, silver, or gold. I hit 94 coins for $5.11.

10-quarters
17-dimes
6-nickels
61-pennies(will clean later)

Image

And I forgot this old brass shot from the old-stlye paper shotgun shells.

I am a football fanatic.....so I went out to dig holes on the soccer fields. :D
I found one piece of something that I need to investigate. Might be part of a broken charm. Don't think it's gold. Fingers crossed for silver.

Image

I hit a good number of targets and I was digging them low tones again

10-quarters
18-dimes
9-nickels
31-pennies(will check copper/zinc numbers later)

68 coins for $5.06

HOLY SMOKES!!!!
I found my new oldest coin today, it's a 1676 coin and I think it's from the Netherlands...still trying to get enough detail to verify the denomination. I'm afraid to clean it too much and lose detail.
