That seems like a decent yield of nickel. Stupid question, is there a nickel sorting wheel for the Rydale?

Not a stupid question at all. According to the internet, there is a ryedale that sorts nickels. I've got to believe that a few people in Canada used one 15 years ago when nickel was over $20 a pound.

Unfortunately this is an anomaly. I believe that people brought back changes gathered over years for x-mas expenses.

I will keep sorting until the % drops again ... as it did in 2013.

$60 face. All 30 rolls were CWR

12 pre 1960, nothing really good, nothing older than 1940. And 2 of the 12 are in poor condition - to be spent.

3 Canadian nickels (all junk)

A 1911 Italy 20c coin in VG-F condition!
NGC says 50 cents. Not bad. This coin is 114 years old.

You got a 1924 d buffalo nickel out of a dump box!?!?? That is very low mintage! Only 5,258,000 were minted. Even in poor condition, this is a $5-7 coin.

Edit two days later: Or is this a 2024 d?

Besides, if it was 1924...I would have listed it as a buffalo.

Special Report! Never mind the wars and buffs, I pulled something better than that! I pulled a 1939 D nickel in VG condition. Those are extremely low mintage - only three and a half million. The 1939 D nickel is Jeffersons 2nd best non error nickel ever. (Obviously '50 d is number one).

Thanks, I now have a total of three in my collection. The other two? One was bought at a coin shop 14 years ago for only twenty cents. The other was pulled from a bankroll two years ago. I don't actually remember pulling it, but I was smart enough to write BR 23 on the back of the 2x2.
