Any 68-74 cents I listed in this thread ARE proofs. They all have a mirror like background and the rims are a little thicker then circulation strikes.

gee, what did i get into, ,, 72s penny. mirrror finish , to me that says PROOF.

PS. My 1968 S was a quarter.

Found a 2005S nickel in a Brinks roll today

Found my first 2 proofs in the same box a couple weeks back. They were 1991s and a 1999s. I also found a 2003s half last week in the tellers tray.

I got a proof ender in the last box. I think I'll leave the roll intact, at least for a while, so I'm not totally sure what it is, but I think it's a 1975 (nickel).

Over the last couple months, I've found 4 more:

And yes, I realize 3 of those 4 were also released as business strikes, but these were SHARP and MIRRORED. Unmistakable.

1962 cent found in a batch of banked wrapped rolls recently. A bit dirty but still had some of that proof finish.

2006 S today. It's possible I've also found some from the 50s and 60s, they look kind of proof-like, but I can't tell for sure...

Found my first - a 2000S cent while searching rolls. What first caught me eye was the wide edge band, then I saw the S mint mark.

For a while I was concerned about the finish - not mirror like (enough) - but its there - just scratched up some.

1975 S cent. Only about EF40 or so. very little proof look, but had a well defined thick rim. But if it was not for the S this one would never be looked at as a one time proof coin.

2001 S cent

Any one find 2012 S - 2014 S quarters yet? Some info here on them... http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/?action ... se&id=1493 "the quarters with the "S" mint mark will not be released into circulation or included in annual sets."

2 1971 S's today. One seems fairly well circulated; I wouldn't have noticed it was a proof if not for the rim. The other looked more proof-like, but sadly dirty and scratched.
