That is simply wonderful. Makes digging up all those pop tabs worth it, doesn't it?

My buddy Floyd and I went to look for a lost ring this morning. We spent 2 hours hunting a beach where the lady thinks she lost it but we didn't find it

We left the beach and headed for some schools and found a bunch of clad and a few trinkets and stuff.

My take for the day:
1 junk ring (it had me going for a minute though)
Image
1 junk earring
1 Chuck-E-Cheese token
Some sort of prayer token?
ImageImage
and a button with an eagle on it, not sure how old it is though.
Image
30 quarters
66 dimes
21 nickels
102 cents (3 wheats)
216 coins for a total of $16.17

I was walking with my dad yesterday and he said "There should be a wheatie, somewhere out here, between the garage driveway and the house driveway, I wonder if I'll ever find it." He had been cleaning out an old Studebaker he was working on, and found a wheat cent, then laid it on the top of the car. He later drove the car from one driveway to the other, then realized he had lost the coin. So I told him I was thinking about renting a detector if possible, because my sister lost her high school ring out there too, years ago. Then he told me my aunt lost her engagement ring between our house and the neighbor's pond, about a half mile away.

I need to get a detector for the next time I visit Mom and Dad!!!

Hi guys, went out today after some rain this week to continue my MD learning. I found a good park that is big and old with baseball fields, volleyball courts, picnic tables and many trees. There is so much park its overwhelming and I get signals everywhere.

My coins to trash ratio is very low because I still don't know what signals to ignore (even in "coin" mode on my Ace 250). But I sure like using the Garrett Pinpointer to spend less time on the trash and also helps find additional targets in the same hole or nearby.

If anyone has any recommendations on where one should spend their time at a big park with lots of trees and picnic table and playing fields, volleyball courts, I would appreciate it.

FOUND:
3 quarters
6 dimes
7 nickels
19 pennies (4 copper)
Total of $1.87

Also found a shotgun shell butt, a part of a broken toy gun made in the USA, and many many pull tabs and bottle caps.

I did like seeing that some of the coins were almost pre 1965. I found a 66 and 67 dime, a 65 quarter, and a 57 nickel. I want to be able to say I have found silver metal detecting some day and I think this park might yield good odds for that. Lots of fun hunting either way.

Went out today here in Indy and got 3 copper memorial pennies, 1956 wheat, clad quarter, Mustang name plate which I broke digging it out, and some sort of old garden tool with a curved top and place for wooden handle. I haven't been able to identify the garden tool. I thought it might be some sort of edger.

Today I went back to the park where I found that 1676 coin and searched some more. The only old coin I found was a wheatie but I did find 2 old flat buttons, a 3 Merry Widows tin (I won't say what originally came in that! ) and a few clad coins.

Then I headed over to my old faithful silver spot and found 11 more wheats and a 1956 silver dime :D

My take for the day:
5 quarters
2 dimes
23 memorial pennies (only 3 are zinc)
12 Wheat cents
1 silver dime.

I hit the park where I recently found 2 rings, one of which was silver. As I get there....those big dark clouds start chasing me with thunder. No lightning, just thunder. So, I ended up staying close to my truck or the nearby picnic shelter. Not much but a few coins to add to the pile.

9-quarters
6-dimes
2-nickels
16-pennies(need to clean)

33 coins for $3.11

Also found a 2005 Superstars Roger Clemens picture coin....rang up as silver.....DANG!

Hit the lake today. Took the Ace and scooted the kayak up to an area were boaters get out and swim and jump off the rocks. No bling  But darn good fun in god's country. Did manage to find some change alone with that peace and quit.

Quarts $2.50
Dimes $0.60
Nicks $0.30
Cents $0.11
Evening on the lake swinging the Ace ALL ALONE $price.less

I'll get some pics up later.

I was out on a "bank route" with the girls earlier this week, and we were at the park for about an hour. I kept looking at the ground thinking I wish I had a MD. I wonder if it would pan out in a place like this. A lot of the playground equipment had deep gravel around it. Do you guys find much stuff in places like that, where you don't really have to dig?

There is usually some clad in the tot lots. About 15 years ago I found 3 mercs in one and occasionally some small pieces of jewlery.
