TXBullion wrote:6$ in teller halves, 12 40%ers , it was a good score. Down side, I lost two of them. I had to go through a metal detector and only had 11 when I checked my pocket later. After that, they went into the ashtray of the car I was in and while pulling them out, one went into a crevice that goes "deep into the dash". It wasnt my car either otherwise it would be time to do some panel popping. So Country, not sure if it is 10 or 12 but either way, Im really happy!

Nice find!!!

It counts for 12. How we dispose of our SILVER after we find them is an individual decision.... ;)

WELCOME!!!

In what state do you find your SILVER?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in NC. I was shocked to find silver
as I was sure these had been searched. I noticed the vault teller going
through them and I asked her what she looked for. To my surprise she says
"I look for my birth year 1987". I explained 1987 is a tough year to pull from rolls
and that I would get her one. She's promised to save
all of the halves for me so we'll see if my luck continues.

Howdy all I posted some of this story on another thread, I got some really uplifting replies. So I’m going to add some of the story to my tracking reports. My only posting for Oct was on 1 Oct. On 8 Oct I was involved in a horse riding accident. I’m on the ‘lucky to be alive’ list. Very long story short, the horse stopped and I did not. I flew over that top of the horse and landed on my sight side. I have a new hip and femur, since my originals were shattered beyond repair. I also have 9 broken ribs, 3 broken vertebrae, and a new hernia.
I got home just over a week ago, exactly 3 weeks in the hospital. While I was ‘away’ my son, Amakeki, pickups up my order of halves from my source bank. Every day he would tease me that the halves are there just waiting for you to sort. Finally after a week at home I have felt good enough to prop myself at my desk and sort through some coins.

6 boxes = 4 skunks boxes, 1 1966 40% coin, and 1 1945-D Walking Liberty half dollar :!:

While working with my therapists they asked about my hobbies. After the jokes about not being a good horse rider I told them about sorting coins. They said that the motor skills and cognitive skills involved in coin sorting make it one of the better activities that I can engage in.
These stupid body braces are going to make it kind of hard to make my dumps. I’ve been told not to lift anything over 20 lbs. Oh well, I always figure out a way.
Thanks!

Proof-like Canadian dimes of 1998 came in mint sets. However, there is a 1998 Canadian dime commemorative SILVER proof dime commemorating 1908-1998 coins minted in Canada. See the EBAY link:

$1500 Bank Bagged Quarters.. 3 $500 bags.
It did have the obligatory 1 silver quarter to keep me going.. a 1958-D.
Also a 1 peso from the Phillipines.. 2002.. pretty sure this is worth less than a quarter.
The good thing about these weekly quarter bag pickups is that they give them to me in new unsealed coin shipment bags so I can reuse the bags to ship copper pennies.

$30 CWR Nickels
Skunk

$500 BWR Halves
A silver lining this week!
1 90% Kennedy - 1964
5 40%ers - 1966 x 2 and 1967 x 3

1 2002-D
1 2006-D

5-Boxes Nickels
3-WN
1-1925 Buf
1-Nice off center struck nickel, my first real one.

While dumping I picked up a teller tray 1941 Walker and found a 1864 Indian Head Penny in the reject bin.

I also found an Eisenhower in the counter along with recovering 6 dollars Canadian quarters, One dollar dimes, 30 cents nickels and a half dozen pennies, $1.56 US coinage, about 20 Mexican Pesos, about 2.50 Eu, a cool fat 100 Tanzanian Shilling and lots more coins all totalling a half Claussen pickel jar of freebies.
I found lots of tokens, a few medals, a silver ring and chain too plus a pile of washers, pins and junk.

This from 3 close local branches, each of which had two machines.

Lot more fun than the crappy last six boxes of nickels.

Happy hunting.

The latest SILVER stats for November have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update.
