40 rolls of pennies, 2000 pennies total sorted

1079 (53.95%) brass pennies total, broken down as follows:

204 (10.2%) Canadian dated 1942-1977 (98% copper, 0.5% tin, 1.5% zinc);

859 (42.95%) Canadian dated 1978-1996 (98% copper, 1.75% tin, 0.25% zinc); and,

16 (0.8%) American dated 1909-1981 (mostly 95% copper, 5% zinc).

Pulled a box off the stack of 100 boxes today for a quick sort. Right on 80% copper with a couple wheats and a George VI in the mix. If they were all like this I'd spend a lot less time hauling coins back to the bank.
