Found an 1899 yesterday in a $50 bag. Thinking that the IHC's get mistaken for Canadian cents and thus end up with all the other ones dumped at the bank. Either that or it was just out of a coin collection. Not sure. Never will know. A coin that has been in circulation for 114 years? Yikes. It is in good shape too. No LIBERTY on the headband but still in good shape.
By the way, talking about Canadian coins, what is up with Ebay people and these type of auctions:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/canadian-coin-l ... 43bcabbc58I am holding onto all my Canadian coins if people really believe that they are this collectible. I've seen auction sellers from the southern states trying to auction off common Canadian coins for ridiculous multiples of face value. If they are that unknowledgeable or think the public is that gullible, it shows that you can probably find hidden deals on coins at any time. Case in point, I bought a 1957 quarter from a teller's tray the other day. I thought it was blaringly obvious sitting there in the tray. Maybe it was just put there moments before I stepped up to the counter. People don't look or care I guess.
