I reached 3,200 rolls, or sixty-four boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,101-3,200:

* 1942 - 1977: 424, or 8.48%.
* 1978 - 1979: 130, or 2.60%.
* 1980 - 1981: 214, or 4.28%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1235, or 24.70%
* U.S. pre-'82: 149, or 2.98%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 16, or 0.32%. Six (6) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2168, or 43.36%.

I'm back on the fair side of luck, for now: the mean percentage of coppers for all my rolls so far is approximately 42.4%. I hope the fair side lasts, although I'm fairly sure it won't. :P

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 350, or 7.00%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

Now up to 3,300 rolls, or sixty-six boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,201-3,300:

* 1942 - 1977: 388, or 7.76%.
* 1978 - 1979: 118, or 2.36%.
* 1980 - 1981: 171, or 3.42%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1097, or 21.94%
* U.S. pre-'82: 118, or 2.36%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 9, or 0.18%. Four (4) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 1901, or 38.02%.

As I supected earlier, I've gone down in the luck again. Maybe next time...

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 348, or 6.96%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

I've gotten up to 3,400 rolls, or sixty-eight boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,301-3,400:

* 1942 - 1977: 463, or 9.26%.
* 1978 - 1979: 118, or 2.36%.
* 1980 - 1981: 197, or 3.94%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1513, or 30.26%
* U.S. pre-'82: 134, or 2.68%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 11, or 0.22%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 1992, or 48.72%.

Good luck came back in spades. It's the first time I ever got above 30% in the '82-'96 category. Of course that means the next run...

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 247, or 4.94%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

I'm now up to 3,500 rolls, or seventy boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,401-3,500:

* 1942 - 1977: 420, or 8.40%.
* 1978 - 1979: 121, or 2.42%.
* 1980 - 1981: 207, or 4.14%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1258, or 25.16%
* U.S. pre-'82: 119, or 2.38%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 17, or 0.34%. Nine (9) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2142, or 42.84%.

Yes, it was back to average; I knew the good luck couldn't last. Thankfully, the fates spared me from another nose-dive into a thirtysomething percentage.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 301, or 6.02%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

I'm now up to 3,600 rolls, or seventy-two boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,501-3,600:

* 1942 - 1977: 445, or 8.90%.
* 1978 - 1979: 177, or 3.54%.
* 1980 - 1981: 186, or 3.72%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1358, or 27.16%
* U.S. pre-'82: 133, or 2.66%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 12, or 0.24%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2299, or 45.98%.

Once again, the penny deity has smiled on me. It'll be nice to see how long it lasts.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 309, or 6.18%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

I've now reached 3,700 rolls, or seventy-four boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,601-3,700:

* 1942 - 1977: 488, or 9.76%.
* 1978 - 1979: 128, or 2.56%.
* 1980 - 1981: 205, or 4.10%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1333, or 26.66%
* U.S. pre-'82: 111, or 2.22%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 21, or 0.42%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2286, or 45.72%.

I'm still on the lucky side of the mean percentage. There's a good chance my luck will change next round, but I'm enjoying what I've got while I can.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 216, or 4.32%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

Another month, another slew of pennies. I'm now up to 3,800 rolls, or thirty boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,701-3,800:

* 1942 - 1977: 411, or 8.22%.
* 1978 - 1979: 139, or 2.78%.
* 1980 - 1981: 176, or 3.52%.

------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2167, or 43.34%.

I'm not quite back to the mean, but I'm closing in. Been there, done that, in the process of doing it again.

Another tracking category of interest:

I'm now up to 3,900 rolls, or thirty boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,801-3,900:

* 1942 - 1977: 407, or 8.14%.
* 1978 - 1979: 114, or 2.28%.
* 1980 - 1981: 177, or 3.54%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1197, or 23.94%
* U.S. pre-'82: 134, or 2.68%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 18, or 0.36%. Thirteen (13) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2047, or 40.94%.

A good wheatie haul, but otherwise below average.

40% gone. I'm now up to 4,000 rolls, or eighty boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 3,901-4,000:

* 1942 - 1977: 454, or 9.08%.
* 1978 - 1979: 140, or 2.80%.
* 1980 - 1981: 196, or 3.92%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1383, or 27.66%
* U.S. pre-'82: 109, or 2.18%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 14, or 0.28%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2296, or 45.92%.

I'm still low in the keepers department, in part because I've been dumping some coins for which I have several duplicates, but the overall percentage puts me in the lucky zone. For now.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 208, or 4.16%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)
