Pretty darn impressive!
I’ve kept all 2016 and 2017 in separate bags. One day, I will go through them and tally up though it won’t be as impressive as my coinstars are rather stingy lol

Going through those bags sounds like a nice New Year's Resolution. No pressure! :)

I will only post Coinstar items infrequently, but here we go for today. All from the same machine at a Safeway...

$1.25 in quarters
.60 in dimes
.05 in nickels
.01 in pennies

So that is $1.91 so far, but wait, there's more...

Also got a 64-D silver dime
An Australia penny from 1966
Canadian quarter from 1968 (definitely NOT silver)

Not a bad haul. At the same machine about a month ago I got something like 40-45 cents all at the same time. I wonder if perhaps the machine is defective.

Yes in 68 there were two compositions, 50% silver ones and 99% nickel ones, so yes need the magnet to check

The Canadian Mint issued two compositions of the dime and quarter in 1967 and again in 1968. In 1967, there is the standard 80% silver/20% copper variety and the 50% silver/50% copper type. In mid-year 1968, they changed the quarter and dime from 50% silver/50% copper to a 99% nickel composition.

Got another silver dime at a Coinstar at the local grocer- this one was a 1946 (Phily mint).

With that there were two quarters and a 1940 (Phily mint) penny.

Two silver dimes in about a week is very rare for me, so I thought I'd post it.

Got yet another silver dime (this one a 1946-D) at a Coinstar machine at the local grocery store. This is the third silver dime I've found in the last 10 days. Also found a silver quarter in a Coinstar machine this past Christmas Eve. That is quite a run for me. Oh, by the way, the four silver coins came from three different Coinstar machines.

I'm only posting to this thread very infrequently, but yesterday I got 3 Canadian nickels at the Coinstar in a grocery store- 2 of them were early 70's (but not the 1970, which is a better date).

One way to avoid that Canadian Alloy Recovery Program is to come south of the border! :)

From the Coinstar machine at the local Walmart tonight...

All common dates...
2 pennies
3 nickels
6 dimes
7 quarters

So that makes $2.52 for the 18 U.S. coins PLUS...

1967 Canadian penny
3 miscellaneous tokens (for gallons of water)

Then I went to a vending machine in the same Walmart and found another 50 cents.

Then I drove by the car wash nearby and found another 31 cents.

So that makes $3.33. Not bad for a single trip.

I'm a little bit surprised these aren't found more often in Coinstar machines. I usually get about one per box of nickels that I go through. So I figure that there should be a decent number dumped into Coinstars.
