    I cheated a little on this box. I weighed all the rolls out of two boxes, and sorted the heaviest ones. Going to do the same on my next two boxes, and return the light rolls to the bank. I'm wondering if this is going to work out well or not.

Since you are filtering out the best rolls, you are returning sight unseen the other rolls. If so, this kind of warps your stats for your 2 $25 boxes. While it's a good idea for you, it places your stats at an unfair advantage to everyone else. For now, I'm not going to include these in your stats. Sorry.

Ok, I don't want to be unfair, so I will sort the light rolls and not return them. I guess I lost sight of the point of this thread is to give accurate numbers of what is out there

    This box was the "light" rolls I picked out of my last box. I will list my next two boxes together because I "cherry picked" the rolls on them also.

Finally completed my first 1000 rolls, or twenty boxes. I'm now a tenth of the way through my 10,000 roll journey. Nice to see copper's recovering.

The pennies itemized below are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 901-1000:

* 1942 - 1977: 617, or 12.34%.
* 1978 - 1979: 94, or 1.88%.
* 1980 - 1981: 193, or 3.86%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1110, or 22.20%
* U.S. pre-'82: 109, or 2.18%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 89, or 1.78%. Twelve (12) of them are wheaties, and a few have early dates.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2212, or 44.24%.

What's surprising about this last batch is the jump in the number of pre-'78 Canadians I'm getting. For some reason, earlier dates are now easier to come by.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 270, or 5.40%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

Now up to 1100 rolls, or twenty-two boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 1001-1100:

* 1942 - 1977: 448, or 8.96%.
* 1978 - 1979: 125, or 2.50%.
* 1980 - 1981: 179, or 3.58%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1169, or 23.38%
* U.S. pre-'82: 121, or 2.42%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 20, or 0.40%. Eight (8) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2062, or 41.24%.

Still on the good side of 40%, but the last box of these two had far fewer. I might be crossing paths with the echoes of a dump bank.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 263, or 5.26%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

Now up to 1200 rolls, or twenty-four boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 1101-1200:

* 1942 - 1977: 482, or 9.64%.
* 1978 - 1979: 137, or 2.74%.
* 1980 - 1981: 169, or 3.38%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1159, or 23.18%
* U.S. pre-'82: 124, or 2.48%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 23, or 0.46%. Five (5) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2094, or 41.88%.

I'm still above 40%, although more than half of them are '82-96. I was recently sobered by the thought that, had Canada dumped copper in '82, my percentages would be 15-20%.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 296, or 5.92%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

Made it to 1,300 rolls, or twenty-six boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 1201-1300:

* 1942 - 1977: 397, or 7.94%.
* 1978 - 1979: 127, or 2.54%.
* 1980 - 1981: 177, or 3.54%.
* 1982 - 1996: 1157, or 23.14%
* U.S. pre-'82: 135, or 2.70%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 13, or 0.26%. Five (5) of them are wheaties.
------------------------------------
Total coppers: 2006, or 40.12%.

I barely made 40% with these hundred rolls, and the number of keepers has plummeted. Maybe my luck's running out.

Another tracking category of interest:
* U.S. pennies, '82 and after: 288, or 5.76%. (I dump away all '82s, so I have zero '82 coppers.)

    2 String Boxes ($50.00)
    1538 non wheat/canadian (30.76%)
    119 82 cu
    29 wheat (1911,1919)
    11 Canadian (1932 KGV)
    2006 Bahama 1c, 2006 Poland 5 groszy, 1 dime
    I suppose weighing my rolls is more time consuming then it's worth if I can average near 30% most of the time. I was also thinking of all the little treasures that could slip right past me.

Reached 1,400 rolls, or twenty-eight boxes, in my 10,000 roll journey. The pennies are Canadian unless otherwise identified. Here are the stats for rolls 1,301-1,400:

* 1942 - 1977: 459, or 9.18%.
* 1978 - 1979: 122, or 2.44%.
* 1980 - 1981: 158, or 3.16%.

* U.S. pre-'82: 93, or 1.86%. These are all non-wheat, non-'82 coppers.
* "Keepers," or semi-numismatic coppers that a naive or sentimental collector would keep: 21, or 0.42%. Four (4) of them are wheaties.

Total coppers: 2037, or 40.74%.

1 cent searched and plundered from the gas station's "give a penny/take a penny" cup. :D I did not replace with a zincer! :o My theory is that someone carelessly threw down their unwanted pennies and in the process, this one bounced all the way up onto the counter and into the penny cup. :lol:
