Was at the grocery store late last night and I hear a guy dumping his change into the coinstar machine. Since it was late the store was pretty quiet. I hear the machine running and it has the occasional reject, which the guy throws back into the machine. It had a nice rhythm, clunk clunk clunk, as the rejects hit the tray. Then I hear clunk, clunk, CLINK, clunk, and I know that was a silver coin. I head over, to make like I was next in line, as he throws the last rejects back in to finish. I already have a dime in hand, as I start chatting with him. As that last dime keeps getting spit out, I offer to buy it from him, but he just hands it to me. A 1947 Roosevelt. I thank him, and wish him well, and wonder at the fact that he had no idea about the silver, but was very grateful for his generosity and kindness.
