For a long time I used them to dump my junk coins. By that I mean rusted gummy nicks bad rims etc.
now I spend them at fast food places.

Two quarters, two dimes, two nickels and five pennies in the reject tray. No silver and no copper pennies. Had to clean up several of them to throw in my change jar.

Ok, I check the coinstar everytime i go to my Kroger. I have found nothing but watch batteries for months. So last week I was ecstatic when I found a crusty old zincoln. But yesterday I walked past coinstar and did a double take as i saw the magic glint of silver color instead of dull copper. I reached in and grabbed 2 dimes and 3 pennies! A home run for me. I stash it in my pocket and get home and pull it out, one of the dimes was 1958! Woo hoo! Who needs megamillions! First silver I have found in the wild in 6 years! It doesn't take much to please us does it!

Keep stacking!

In July the Coinstar gods saw fit to lower the sizzling Vegas temps for some much-needed monsoon moisture. I got out more as a result, and on one trip I was rewarded with a 45-coin Coinstar bonanza, the largest of the year so far. Wheaties, silver, a bunch of foreigns and a flattened penny for good measure rounded out a pretty good month.

July totals (2022 totals)

1¢ - .66 (3.68)
5¢ - .60 (6.10)
10¢ - 1.60 (11.80)
25¢ - 1.25 (15.00)
50¢ - 1.00 (1.50)

$3.25 in quarters and a 1.00 car wash token!!

I was doing a return at WM last night with my daughter, and while in line, told her she should go check the machine. She's 17 so she of course didn't go. I said if you don't, I'm going to. She said go ahead. When I came back with my winnings she got mad at me LOL

The dog days of Coinstar and ground hunting are upon us. August's US total was the second lowest this year and foreigns didn't provide any new nations. Parking lot finds have also slowed to a trickle. The bright spots were a wheatie, a silver dime and a 2022 Canadian quarter, first same-year Canadian find in 14 years.

August totals (2022 totals)

1¢ - .52 (4.20)
5¢ - .40 (6.50)
10¢ - .80 (12.60)
25¢ - 1.75 (16.75)
50¢ - 0.00 (1.50)
Total - 3.47 (41.55)

Included in August total: 1942-S wheatie, 1953-S dime

Apartment complex parking lot (year to date): 1.81

Canada
10 cents (2021) (colored)
25 cents (2006-P, 2022)

Great Britain
1 penny (1971)

Mexico
50 centavos (2017)

Tokens
Carwash (Antique Auto/No Cash Value)
Chuck E Cheese (2009)
Two Cherries
Plastic US dime replica (2003-D)

September was a foreign coin bonanza! Seven - count 'em - seven new countries for the year, including a couple of all time firsts - French Polynesia & Honduras. And after lagging for a couple of months, my apartment complex parking lot finds got a shot in the arm with what looked like a busted piggy bank next to a dumpster that yielded 85 cents, bringing me back on par with a penny a day for the year. Add in a couple of silver dimes and it was an above average month.

September totals (2022 totals)

1¢ - .41 (4.61)
5¢ - .30 (6.80)
10¢ - 1.00 (13.60)

Last evening my wife got a Canadian nickel, a Euro, six wheat backs and 13 steel 1943 lincolns. What a jackpot.
