HIGHLIGHTS OF February's SILVER SEARCHING:
February half searching was about $5000 less than January. In addition, SILVER halves found in February dropped significantly, over 47% less than January. What a drop! $258,847.50 halves were searched, and only 1155 SILVER halves were found. 2.23 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 486 half boxes searched, 268 of them were SKUNKS. War Nicks found (110) was significantly more than in January the best month since February 2010; there were 494 SILVER dimes found (far less than the 724 found in January); and 1 SILVER quarter was discovered in the wild. CardsNCoins had the best reported $500 box in February with 40 SILVER halves. Of all the $1000 half bags searched, AGCoinHunter found the most, 19 SILVER halves in a bag in February. Saabman found 13 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes, the most for February. Dano found 3 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best box for February.
On the leadership boards: CardsNCoins found the most SILVER halves (275), besting db23 who had 227. Greatwun found 104 SILVER dimes, besting adamsp27 who was second with 89 of them. cwgii found the most War Nicks (94), far exceeding everyone else during February.
Other highlights are as follows:
2/4 - Saabman finds 13 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes, best box for February.
2/5 - cwgii finds a stupendous 94 War Nicks in a $1000 nickels, including a solid roll of them!!
2/5 - cwgii finds an AU+ 1883 V-Nickel.
2/14 - jtlee finds 2 Barber halves in a $500 bag of halves.
2/16 - db23 finds a SILVER quarter in the reject tray, the only one found this month.
2/17 - Dano finds a 1904 V-Nickel in some CWRs.
2/21 - Greatwun makes a mega-dime-score; raking in 90 SILVER dimes from $150 CWRs.
2/23 - jtlee321 scores with CWRs, finding 57 SILVER halves.
2/23 - CardsNCoins finds an 1892 Columbian in a box of halves.
2/23 - CardsNCoins gets 40 SILVER halves in a box of halves, best for the month.
2/24 - Dano finds 3 War Nicks in a box of nickels, best for the month.
2/25 - AGCoinHunter gets 19 SILVER halves in a $1000 bag of halves.
2/29 - jtlee321 finds a Booker T. Washington in a $500 bag of halves.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

HIGHLIGHTS OF February's SILVER SEARCHING:
February half searching was about $5000 less than January. In addition, SILVER halves found in February dropped significantly, over 47% less than January. What a drop! $258,847.50 halves were searched, and only 1155 SILVER halves were found. 2.23 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 486 half boxes searched, 268 of them were SKUNKS. War Nicks found (110) was significantly more than in January the best month since February 2010; there were 494 SILVER dimes found (far less than the 724 found in January); and 1 SILVER quarter was discovered in the wild. CardsNCoins had the best reported $500 box in February with 40 SILVER halves. Of all the $1000 half bags searched, AGCoinHunter found the most, 19 SILVER halves in a bag in February. Saabman found 13 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes, the most for February. Dano found 3 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best box for February.
On the leadership boards: CardsNCoins found the most SILVER halves (275), besting db23 who had 227. Greatwun found 104 SILVER dimes, besting adamsp27 who was second with 89 of them. cwgii found the most War Nicks (94), far exceeding everyone else during February.
Other highlights are as follows:
2/4 - Saabman finds 13 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes, best box for February.
2/5 - cwgii finds a stupendous 94 War Nicks in a $1000 nickels, including a solid roll of them!!
2/5 - cwgii finds an AU+ 1883 V-Nickel.
2/14 - jtlee finds 2 Barber halves in a $500 bag of halves.
2/16 - db23 finds a SILVER quarter in the reject tray, the only one found this month.
2/17 - Dano finds a 1904 V-Nickel in some CWRs.
2/21 - Greatwun makes a mega-dime-score; raking in 90 SILVER dimes from $150 CWRs.
2/23 - jtlee321 scores with CWRs, finding 57 SILVER halves.
2/23 - CardsNCoins finds an 1892 Columbian in a box of halves.
2/23 - CardsNCoins gets 40 SILVER halves in a box of halves, best for the month.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

While looking at it I noticed the reverse rotation of about 70%. The eagles head is in the 7-8 o'clock position. 
Now I just have to search and see what this thing really is....
