HIGHLIGHTS OF March's SILVER SEARCHING:
March half searching was about $12000 less than February. In addition, SILVER halves found in March decreased greatly, about 26% less than February. $246,763.50 halves were searched, and 855 SILVER halves were found. 1.73 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 475 half boxes searched, 283 of them were SKUNKS. War Nicks found (415) was significantly more than in February and by far the best month ever reported here; there were 475 SILVER dimes found (slightly less than the 499 found in February); and 9 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. CardsNCoins had the best reported $500 box in March with 41 SILVER halves. Of all the $1000 half bags searched, AGCoinHunter found the most, 6 SILVER halves in a bag in March (not too much good pickens in bags these days). adamsp27 found 14 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes, the most for March. corky569 found 3 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best box for March.
On the leadership boards: CardsNCoins found the most SILVER halves (319), far exceeding Chief who had 141. adamsp27 found 126 SILVER dimes, besting corky569 (89) and CardsNCoins (78). cesariojpn found the most War Nicks (396), far exceeding everyone else during March.
Other highlights are as follows:
3/2 - CardsNCoins gets a 31 SILVER half box.
3/7 - adamsp27 finds 14 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
3/8 - CardsNCoins gets 20-1964 Kennedys from a teller tray. Now that's nice!!
3/8 - caesariojpn makes the best War Nickel find ever - 396 Wars in $20 of CWRs. WOW!!
3/9 - PMLurker gets 2 SILVER quarters in a box of quarters. Not bad!!
3/11 - jtlee321 finds an 1883 Liberty Seated dime in a box of dimes.
3/13 - CardsNCoins finds an 1893 Columbian half in a box of halves.
3/20 - corky569 finds 3 War Nicks, the most in a box of nickels this month.
3/21 - TwoAndAHalfCents finds a War Nick, his first SILVER found by roll hunting.
3/25 - BamaJoe ends his 42 SKUNK streak in halves.
3/28 - CardsNCoins gets a 41 SILVER half box.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
