HIGHLIGHTS OF April's SILVER SEARCHING:
April half searching was about $43000 less than March. In addition, SILVER halves found in April increased greatly, about 31% more than March. $203524 halves were searched, and 1121 SILVER halves were found. 2.75 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 386 half boxes searched, 185 of them were SKUNKS. War Nicks found (19) was significantly less than in March and this was the worst month reported here since November 2011 when only 15 were found; there were 355 SILVER dimes found (down from the 459 found in March); and 5 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. adamsp27 had the best reported $500 box in April with 37 SILVER halves. In all the $1000 half bags searched, there were no SILVER halves found (Do you remember the good old days when 100's were found?). Chief found 12 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes, the most for April. Dano found 3 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best box for April.
On the leadership boards: adamsp27 found the most SILVER halves (247), just edging out Chief who had 233, 4 bit who had 219, and CardsNCoins who had 205. adamsp27 found 108 SILVER dimes, besting corky569 (85). Dano and cwgii each had 6 War Nicks during April.
Other highlights are as follows:
4/2 - 4 bit finds 17 SILVER halves in $70 of CWRs.
4/7 - adamsp27 finds 35 SILVER halves in a box of halves.
4/7 - CardsNCoins swipes 13 SILVER halves from a coin machine's bag.
4/9 - Country finds his first SILVER half this year.
4/11 - corky569 finds 12 SILVER dimes in a $1000 bag of dimes.
4/14 - 4 bit gets 113 SILVER halves in $660 half CWRs and also finds a 1923 Peace Dollar too!!
4/14 - Dano finds 3 War Nicks in $100 of nickels.
4/16 - Chief gets an 1893 Columbian on the end of a bank roll; very nice…
4/20 - CardsNCoins gets a 31 SILVER half box including 4 Walkers and 4 Franklins.
4/24 - 4 bits scores 39 SILVER halves in $90 of CWRs.
4/29 - Chief finds 12 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
4/29 - Chief gets 30 SILVER halves in a box of halves, his best for the year.
4/30 - adamsp27 gets a 37 SILVER half box containing 15 90%ers; best box of the month.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
