It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2012 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2012 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.

It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

In the past few months, I've had good luck with half dollars. I do them in $1000 orders, one or two orders a month. Last time one Franklin and two 40% JFK's. Before that, two Franklins and seven 40%. A couple orders before that, 13 or 14 40% JFK's in each order. It's been going well.

July is off to a good start. At one bank, I noticed two dimes and one quarter with white metal edges in the teller's tray. The edge reeds on the dimes didn't look Canadian. They were at the bottom of the stack, so I figured the teller knew what they were. I said, "Hey, it looks like you have silver dimes and a silver quarter." I was surprised when she offered to sell them to me. "Are you sure you want to do that?" I asked. She said she wasn't allowed to buy change out of her tray. I'll have to remember to bring her some candy or something the next time I'm out that way.

Tuesday's box of halves yielded.....1 x 64 , 4 x 67, 1 x68, and 4 x69!!!!! Also, 1 x 76S clad and a gold counter stamp '85! One roll was over a half.

Finally a day off!
Pretty good day searching; finally ended the half dollar drought.

210 cwr halves = 2 1964, 2 1967, 1 1968-D
200 BWR nickels = 3 1943-P, 1 1945-S

7.50 loose halves, 100.00 cwr dimes, 40.00 BWR dimes, 10.00 cwr nickels, all skunk

In all the nickels there was an extra .47 in change, incl. 4 dimes and 2 pennies.

One bank I visited today had $210 worth of CWR halves. At first I didn't expect much from them, as most of the rolls were marked in such a way that they looked like another searcher's dump coins. On one of the rolls, however, someone had written "1960's Kennedy 13-1967, 7-1968." I shook the coins out of the wrapper and heard the familiar jingle of silver. The roll contained twenty 40% silver halves. Three other rolls also contained some silver for a total of twenty-nine 40% silver halves. Today's total of just over 4 1/2 ounces was my fifth largest daily silver total.
