Add a 2010 Mexican 5 peso Hidalgo. I guess there are several types of 5 peso being released this year.

Does this one count? :)
Regardless, I had to share it with you. Cost me over $100 to get it. Of course, I got four pizzas and several drinks and hundreds of other tokens... but...

I found my first quarter of the year, a 2010-P Hot Springs in my IHOP change. I like more honest and accurate sculpting of Washington on the obverse.. less spaghetti hair. (The profile of Lincoln on the shield cent got the same makeover, in case you haven't noticed).

Just walked out of coin shop where I was finally able to purchase the P & D Grand Canyon National Park Quarters. I had to pay a total of $1.00 for the fifty cent face value but at least I got them!!!

Cerulean...I too just found my first 2010 quarter (Hot Springs) in a CWR. I was really shocked to see it.

posted from my cell phone so please excuse typos. :geek:

I went to a local coin shop today and they STILL didn't have the Grand Canyon quarters. I'm gonna have to get busy lookin for those last few if I want to have a chance at the prize!

I made the following post on the old forum:

Don't you just love the new "old design" for the obverse??? I do!!! I haven't found any yet but had the opportunity to look at these when visiting the guy at the flea market; I will say that I was somewhat surprised that the reverse wasn't more elaborate after some of the great designs that we had in the state quarter program--I sort of felt let down.

I prefer to get mine at face value rather than pay a premium so I didn't get any from him.

Cerulean.......I still love the "old design" for the obverse of the National Park Quarters. I hadn't realized though that Lincoln also received a new make-over. Thanks for the info.

And, alas, I have had to eat my words as I am having to pay a premium to be able to get these new quarters. I find it really hard to believe that the banks are not able to get them to have for their customers.

I am sitting here going through the change I had gotten during the last week and I spot a very shiny quarter and I get my hopes up that it is a 2009 so I would have another addition to the kids' anniversary coin jar. I am extremely shocked because it is a 2010 Grand Canyon quarter. So I immediately grab the little paper envelope that has the two Grand Canyon quarters I bought last Friday thinking one had somehow fallen out. Nope! Both were still in the envelope.

I had actually gotten a 2010 P Grand Canyon quarter in change sometime on Friday or Saturday while out doing errands and spending money. So two bought at a premium and one for face value.

enjoy! :geek:

Got a roll of the Lincoln dollars at the bank... don't know which mint! I will find out Friday when I go back and buy some loose ones. But this roll was for my dad, who saves a roll of each prez. I just wanted to "mark" that I got em already...

Well, if they turn out to be the D mint, then please credit me with the P mintmark as I just bought a roll of the President Lincoln dollar coins at the bank today and had to open them to let my MIL get her three and to see what the mint mark was.

So does this mean that the roll you got was the D mintmark and that I get to claim the P Lincoln dollar as that is what my roll was that I got at the bank on Friday??? :?:

PreservingThePast has 11 finds so far. Barring any drastic activity in the final month of the contest, PTP is the predicted winner.

Uthminsta has 7. Better start hitting those foreign coins and high value Canadian coins if you want to catch up!

It's not over until it's over. Thirty three days to go!

Most likely. I'm not opening them cause they're now my dad's. And he likes the sealed rolls...

You better believe I'm tryin... I want that game! My best friend is a board / role playing game fanatic. I wanna try it out with him.

Just walked out of coin shop from buying the P and D mintmark for the Mount Hood National Park quarter. Had to pay $1.00 total for the fifty cent face value. One year down, nine more years to go. Hope they eventually become available at the banks as the state quarters were.

I am preparing for the 2011 contest. (Maybe '11 will be your year, Uthminsta!)

Hey, Canadians! Is your Mint releasing any circulating commemoratives in 2011?

I was hoping to get some of the 2010 British coins by the end of the year... but I'm not thinking it's gonna happen. I'm not a Cubs fan, but just this once, I think I'm gonna have to say... maybe next year! PTP, you surely did the work!

Thanks! It was a struggle considering I can't drive and was at the mercy of my husband's work/health schedule and the bank being open and/or the coin shop being open or having gotten the quarters in. It was fun! I think HCBTT took it easy on us as I believe he surpassed me unmercifully last year. Not to mention the other huge sorters that probably could have beaten us with one hand tied behind their backs and blindfolded. Thanks for having mercy on us all, guys.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:
