Ended year searching a old farmhouse no longer standing. No coins but found an engine part that looks like it is a 2 port intake cover. Added it to the pile to be scrapped.
Total for the year (since 12/8):
2 quarters
17 dimes
42 pennies (7 cu/35 zn)
Happy new year !!

Congrats on the new machine. I just got an Etrac a few weeks ago. Ive had it out once. I think it will be easier to use than I initially thought. I wish I hadnt waited so long to get a nice Minelab now. I have been out several times this year so far. I will try to post up some pics of my finds soon. If anybody wants to watch some highlights of my detecting hunts here is a link to my Youtube

frank t,
the area I usually hunt is an old Navy housing complex that was built during WWII. They tore down all of the houses a few years ago and the county took it over. Half of it is now part of a park, the other half is going to be for commercial use but no signs of anything yet and they still cut the grass!

i won today. one copper lincoln. one zinc. one indian head 1888. my 2nd ever. first gold of my life. its huge. a pocketwatch marked 18k. i need some help identifying tho please. very ornate front with a horse midgallop, vines and leaves and flowers around the outside. the back has a leaf design, and a similar boarder. on the inside the back cover is halmarked like four times a capital U, 18, what appears to be a jesters face, something else a little worn, and the number 16426. (really small some kind of production number) On the back it says
David Humbert
Geneva
H??da
detached lever full jeweled.
i looked online i couldnt find anything about david or anything like this.
im soooo stoked i hope its the real deal.
