We have a pre-40 Lincoln thread and an Indian thread, so why not stretch that a bit further? Let's go back to the days of large cents, half cents, and copper-nickel small cents. Obviously, these turn up VERY seldom - most often I guess through metal detecting, or very VERY peculiar coin bags. As such, this should be another fun and rather specific niche.
So I did some re-reading of old threads, and started "re-packaging" what I've dug up so far. Therefore, its not exhaustive yet: please post your finds here!

HALF CENTS
1809 - bman - 2011 or 2012

LARGE CENTS
1801 draped bust - hirbonzig - April 2010
1818 or 19 - bman - February 2012
1857 coronet - zerocd - February 2010

COPPER NICKEL SMALL CENTS
1857 - henrysmedford - March 2013
1858
1859 - HoardCopperByTheTon
1860 - dave - March 2013
1861
1862 - crbattery - early 2013
1863 - adamsp27 - September 2012
1863 - bman - 2011 or 2012
1864 - motos - January 2012 (although it wasn't specified if it was CN or bronze).

OTHER
1788 Massachusetts cent - Diggin4copper - June 2011 or earlier
New Jersey cent - Diggin4copper

so im a metal detector, i purchased an ace 250 for 100$ locally through craigslist. The guy i bought it off of told me there was nowhere to hunt    .
after getting my chops up in the local parks i wanted some older goodness. i am not on anything this old yet but i have been so close. including (probably just to toot my own horn) a 1865 2 cent piece, bronze, 4-28-13. and definately time period a 1854 seated quarter,4/7/13.
