HIGHLIGHTS OF MARCH'S SILVER SEARCHING:

LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED INDIVIDUAL TO CARRY THE SILVER STATS IN 2014. I WILL HELP YA' GET SET UP, BUT IT'S A BIT MUCH FOR ME THESE DAYS. SEND ME A PM, IF INTERESTED. (I WILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN THE COPPER STATS.) IF NOT, EVEN WITHOUT THE STATS, I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THE MONTHLY THREAD FOR ALL TO POST.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2013 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2013 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.

It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

Now, go out and find that SILVER treasure!!

I've been having a pity party of late....oh woe is me - searching roll after roll of dimes - and no silver.

I was going thru my last batch of dimes yesterday - and there - in a roll - shinning like the beacon of a light house on a dark and stormy night, there it was - the gleam of silver - beckoning to me. But was it? Several times in the last how many rolls, I thought I had silver - no red gleam of copper on the edges, but the all dates on them dimes - they was all clad...

But this coin - this one - I just knew - it was silver - and the date confirmed it - a 1946. Finally!

I cashed my searched dimes in yesterday at the local bank, and got some more rolls. This morning - before work, I had a couple moments - I went thru the first roll of the new batch - and in that roll nothing - no wait! - the 3rd coin from the end - that gleam - yes - yes - YES - silver - another 1946!

I am starting to feel like what I imagine a junkie feels like - 'got to get my next fix'.

So I got to wondering - just how long has it been since my last fix. So I went back thru the threads...

I finished going thru $55 of dimes Friday night (4-4) - these being part of the bunch I had started on Friday morning, the first roll which gave me the 2nd 1946. Friday night I found a 1953....

Cashed the left overs in on Sat morning (getting a new batch of rolls - $60), and went thru them Sat and yesterday - skunked.
