I avoided posting yesterday because no one would believe me being it was April fools and the fact that I'm still a noob. But I hit a jackpot yesterday.
I bought my normal box of halves Thursday and opened that night - skunk. I had to go to a neighboring town about 30 minutes away from home yesterday so I just decided to take my halves to the branch in that town instead of my local dump bank. I started dumping my halves and immediately the machine stops after only $10 had been counted - bag full. So I wait for a teller to come over and change out the bag. She comes over, changes it out, leaves the full bag at the machine so she can go get a handcart, and I resume dumping my halves. As I'm dumping I look down at the bag and I see it...numerous white silver edges looking right back at me!!! I finish my dump and by this time the teller has come back to retrieve the bag of full halves. As politely as I possibly could I said "I know this sounds silly, but may I buy that bag of halves you have?" She says sure, but let me check with the manager. She comes back and says "He says you can buy it as long as you don't come back and dump them back in our machine." I said "deal, you won't ever see them again." I get the bag back home and holy moley...

So there was a $1000 bag I checked out a couple months ago, and it was half full at the time. Just recently checked on it again....and it was half full.....But the impressive bags posted on here as of late had me too excited, sooo I dropped in $490 to top it off!...The payout was modest, but decent.

I buy all the Canadian halves and old dollars I can find. Today picked up $105.50 from HSBC and $25 face in halves from a credit union. No silver but the credit union was so thankful to sell the halves (they have to count them every day and can't ship them) they gave me a starbucks card to say thank-you. Also given a 5 centavo Brasil 2001. Some of the credit union halves were NIFC 2015, which is unusual as someone had to break them out of a mint set or mint roll and deposit loose.

Picked up a partial bag back on 02-22-2016.
$247.00 loose.
