$750 --> $35.82 (4.8%) copper.
Yes, this was a big final push.

This run has reached both my original goal and the percentage stopping point.

Slow and steady wins the race; I may have crossed the finish line after the race concluded. The summation of eleven years, many hours, and countless trips to banks, leaves me with a few pounds of copper for that rainy day.

Copper is currently below $2.85 per pound and dropping, but copper will prove to be a better bet than the USD.

With all my talk of copper on the RealCent site, it may not be clear, I am firmly a silver monometalist. Copper is the best divider of silver, and has been an actionable plan. Gold is the best multiplier of silver, but I'll not get lost down that rabbit hole today.

I'm curious about only 4.8% being copper. Any idea why so few? Did a lot of the rolls get turned in by the same person? Did all the rolls come from the same bank? I've done really lousy over the years but I still get about 13-15% copper. So 4.8% sounds awfully low..

Multiple banks, about 1/2 from Wells Fargo from March through June. Lots of brand new 2016 and 2017. :cry:

I'm gonna guess that at least 2/3 (and possibly 3/4 or more) of the pennies were Uncirculated.

The ACE was an old prototype for hand sorting that Ryedale made (cost was about $100 I think). It is has a manual penny feed like the Ryedales, but no electric motors or discriminators. It works by using an appropriately placed magnet in the feeding mechanism, dropping out the COPPERs on the one side and zinc on the other. I use it to manually check the 1982s I get.

I have a Ryedale myself, but had never heard of the ACE. Thanks for the info.
