At this point if you put all the silver you've found into a Saab, all 4 tires will appear to be flat! :)

Seriously, it is fantastic to see the success that you are having.

Stopped at a bank earlier this week while traveling out of state. Got $12 in halves and that included a 40%er (1968).

The thing that was nice for me is that this was a state where I’ve never bought any coins or found any silver. So now I can check off one more state on my bucket list. The goal is to either find silver or buy something numismatic (while traveling there) for ALL 50 states. I think I am at 31 or 32 states now where I have done just that- need to double check my notes. Don’t get me wrong- I’ve been to all 50 states and a number of them a bunch of times. But I need to go back to a bunch of them on future travels to do some coin acquisitions.

After many years off, I ordered a box of halves this week. What a haul! 8 90% (all 64's) and 19 40%. 4 NIFCs rounded out the box, one being a 2007 with green marker across the face.

The new dump bank's counter didn't like more than a handful of halves at a time, and requires you to add a few, close the lid, wait, and repeat the cycle.

Nice haul . If that isn’t enough to get you back for more halves, I’m not sure what it would take...

My first $100 box of nickels in a good while...

2 war nicks (43-P & 45-S)
2 of the 2009’s
18 pre 1960
3 Canadian nickels (no .999)

For the last 28 rolls ($56), I decided to break out the dates 1960-64 from the pre 60’s, even though I only save pre-60’s. This is what I uncovered:

Pre ‘60: 9
1960: 2
1961: 5
1962: 5
1963: 2
1964: 24 (huge mintages)

I thought the statisticians out there might draw some conclusions about what percentage of people save ‘64 and before instead of pre-60.

Anyone?

I haven't done boxes of nicks like I used to for quite some time, but that looks about right, and I cannot tell you how many people I've told over the years that the pre-64 nicks aren't silver only to get a deer in the headlights look from them. Even my dad, God rest his soul, kept pre-64 nicks for YEARS and it took a bunch of sorting out to get them all back into circulation. I wonder if when the gen pop realizes this, we'll see a massive influx of pre-60 nicks back into circulation?
