A really tiny one, but I thought I'd post it nonetheless.

Tried to get a box of $100 in nickels- all they had for me was $4.

Found a single pre-1960. That's it- no 2009's, war nickels, buffalos or V's. No Canadian. Boring, but at least it didn't waste much time.

$89.50 face in halves today. Skunk, but...

Did get $70 face in original mint wrapped Unc. rolls:

Very nice score on just $8 in nickels.

$30 in halves- nada.

A $100 box of (U.S.) nickels that was interesting and boring at the same time.

Whomever had the box before me has very similar tastes to me.

They go through the coins and return what they don’t want- rather than stacking the brick as an unopened box.
They kept any dimes.
They kept any foreign coins and tokens, notably any Canadian nickels.
They kept 2009’s.
They kept war nickels.
They kept buffalos, even dateless ones, but returned those after 2000.
They kept V-nickels.
They kept pre-64 Jeffs and returned all 15 of the 1964’s- ok minor difference, I keep pre-60’s instead of pre-64’s.

Good news for other other collector: they didn’t make any mistakes. I have seen enough times where a box would have 1 or 2 good dates. For instance, a tired collector without the best eyesight who proves they are human and mistakenly returns 1-2 good ones- I’ve especially noticed this with silver halves.

I could be wrong- just my opinion.

Even if this was a box of all Uncs., it wouldn’t have been as bad. I wouldn’t have wasted as much time. Oh well...

Agreed.

Went back again same bank 10/15 on a hunch commuting home got $2 in pennies - all 25 wheat were in one roll. The other three were average rolls.

Back from my metal detecting trip to England. I didn't walk over a lot but did manage a hammered silver coin. Not sure of the date range yet but it's an oldie for sure.

Wednesday's box of halves yielded...... 1 x 57 , 1 x 64 , 2 x 67, and 1 x 68!!!!

I would take that from a box any day!

Bank called this morning— my box of halves are in. First box in a long time, had dreams of a box filled with a Thogey’s widow dump of silver in it and it was....a skunk. Fun to dream, maybe someday I’ll get boxes as good as Saabman.

Thursday's box of halves yielded........ 2 x 64 , 1 x 66, and 1 x 67!!!

Friday's box of halves yielded.....1 x 69!

Was a little short on cash due to relatives so I sorted the box while driving between source and dump bank. (Saturday reduced hours) Being color blind that's a thousand dates in less than 25 minutes. No accidents or tickets but some swerving.

Would have went a lot better if the fat 9s didn't look so much like 0s, The 79s are

Had 1 dime that was 1965 and it looked 100% silver. Weight came back as non silver.
