June 2022 Copper Penny Handsorter Tracking

Bought 12 rolls of pennies last Wed that were in old pink wrappers. It was a pleasure to open them today as the newest ones were from 1975. All 600 cents were from 1959-1975. 100 percent copper!!!!

I decided to pick up $10 in pennies today to see what the percentages are like in my area these days. It was a mix of bank wrapped and customer wrapped rolls. The BWRs were about what I would expect to find. The CWRs were discouraging with a copper percentage just above 10%. The CWRs were 12 coins short and included one plastic play penny.
$4.50 BWR
Copper - 66 total (14.67%)
4 - Wheat (1944-S, 1952-D, 1953-D, 1956)
55 - Memorial 1959-1981
7 - Memorial 1982
$5.50 BWR
Copper - 58 total (10.54%)
3 - Wheat (1944, 1953-D, 1957-D)
55 - Memorial 1959-1981
0 - Memorial 1982
$4.50 BWR

Are you weighing the 1982’s to make sure they’re copper? Coppers weigh about 3.1 grams- zincs weigh about 2.6.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).
NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
