HIGHLIGHTS OF April's SILVER SEARCHING:
April half searching was about $9000 less than March. However, production of SILVER halves was 10% more than March. The SILVER halves found in April was the most this year. $160,326.50 halves were searched, and 1368 SILVER halves were found. 4.27 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 301 half boxes searched, 159 of them were SKUNKS!! War Nicks found (79) was 21 less than in March; there were 437 SILVER dimes found; and 16 SILVER quarters (best month this year) were discovered in the wild. CardNCoins had the best $500 box in March with 76 SILVER halves. AGCoinHunter found 93 SILVERs in a $1000 bag in April. CardsNCoins found 90 SILVER dimes out of a $250 box of dimes. appjoe found 6 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels.
On the leadership boards: CardNCoins found an outstanding number of SILVER halves (246), just exceeding BamaJoe (212) and gravybro (211). CardsNCoins found an amazing number of SILVER dimes (247); rakattack who found 45 was a distant second. sisuraha and appjoe were the best at finding War Nicks, each finding 15 during April.
Other highlights are as follows:
4/1 - jtlee321 gets 69 SILVER halves in a $500 coin counter bag, including 34 90%ers.
4/2 - sisuraha finds 15 War Nicks in 3 CWR of nickles.
4/6 - jtlee321 finds 5 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes.
4/7 - jtlee321 finds 3 SILVER quarters in a $500 box of quarters.
4/8 - hirbonzig gets 45 SILVER halves from a $1000 vault bag.
4/8 - AGCoinHunter gets 93 SILVER halves in a $1000 bag of halves.
4/10 - CardsNCoins finds 33 SILVER dimes in a $250 box of dimes - WOW!!
4/12 - BamaJoe finds 49 SILVER halves in a box halves.
4/15 - CardsNCoins has two great half boxes: 76 and 63 keepers.
4/27 - Saabman finds 25 40%ers in a half box.
4/27 - doug gets 9 90%ers and 37 40%ers from 5 CWR half rolls.
4/28 - ZigMeister finds 4 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels.
4/29 - CardsNCoins finds an unbelievable dime monster box containing 90 SILVER dimes, including 8 Mercuries.
It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2011 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2011 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
