HIGHLIGHTS OF October's SILVER SEARCHING:
October half searching was the most for this year; about $15000 more than September. In addition, the most SILVER halves this year was found in October, 15% more than September. $244.990 halves were searched, and 1754 SILVER halves were found. 3.58 SILVER halves per box on average were found. Also, of the 478 half boxes searched, 244 of them were SKUNKS!! War Nicks found (39) was 5 more than in September; there were 252 SILVER dimes found (24 less than in September); and 8 SILVER quarters were discovered in the wild. gravybro had the best reported $500 box in October with 69 SILVER halves. Of all the $1000 half bags searched, AGCoinHunter found the most, 4 SILVER halves in a bag in October. Dano found 17 SILVER dimes in two different $250 boxes of dimes, the most for October. appjoe and aev found 3 War Nicks in a $100 box of nickels, the best boxes for October.
On the leadership boards: CardsNCoins found the most SILVER halves (564), besting db23 who had 411. CardsNCoins found 54 SILVER dimes, besting Dano who was second with 48 of them. appjoe was the best at finding War Nicks, finding 13 during October, just edging out Bartender who had 12.
Other highlights are as follows:
10/6 - Dano finds 17 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
10/9 - gravybro gets 69 SILVER halves (his best) in a box of halves.
10/12 - ardolan finds his first Franklin in a box of halves.
10/13 - CardsNCoins finds 9 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes.
10/13 - appjoe finds 3 War Nicks in a box of nickels.
10/15 - CardsNCoins finds 2 SILVER quarters while dumping his dimes.
10/16 - gravybro gets 112 SILVER halves, including 42 90% JFKs, from $189 of CWRs on his RoadTrip.
10/18 - Dano finds another 17 SILVER dimes in a box of dimes!!
10/19 - db23 gets 4 nice boxes of halves; 30, 24, 34, and 30 SILVER halves.
10/23 - BlackOut finds his first 1970 SILVER half in a box of halves.
10/28 - CardsNCoins strikes SILVER in a nice string of half boxes: 21, 33 (8 Walkers), 38, 30, 10, 31, 25, and 20.
10/29 - aev finds 3 War Nicks in a box of nickels.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2011 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2011 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.
