I guess I'm a scrapper now....

So I dug through my first dumpster yesterday!

And I got quite a haul

I was coming out of a doctor's appointment and saw an old beat up metal chair by the dumpster, I wanted one for my garage so I went over to grab it. However, the side door was open and I happened to glance in and see all kinds of wires and things. So after overcoming my worries about who might see me I started to prod around and this is what I ended up pulling out:

A full desktop computer- all old junk parts except for 1.5gb of RAM which I just sold on CL, the rest is good for scrap
3-4 lbs of 1/2" copper piping
1-2 lbs brass piping
half a dozen pop cans- there were more in there than I cared to dig for, maybe 30-40
misc cords
1 xbox 360 console and the guts of another- probably broken but maybe some resale value as is?
oh, and the chair- one of those padded metal kitchen chairs out of the seventies with the nasty yellow floral print

So just with the copper/brass and the RAM I sold, I'm looking at around $20!

That was fun! I'm gonna have to do this more often! :D

Watch out, it's addicting and strangely profitable.

I still check dumpsters when I have the time.

Funny story,

Guy on an industry forum I visit said he had problems with people digging in his trash. So he took a dump in one of the items he was throwing out.

Moral of the story.

Watch out for Poo.
