What do you do with aluminum wire?

I was wondering what you guys do with aluminum wire? Do you strip it and throw it in with your soda cans?

I strip it, but never mix it with cans. Cans always bring the best price for aluminum. Aluminum wire gets called something else (usually "clip") and isn't worth as much.

Never mix it with the cans. Just like messymessy said. Put it in a pile by itself.

Throw it in with the steel. Last "pile" i messed with got me $8 and took two hours of screwing with. Just trash to me unless I find a truck load.

I found a bunch one time that I stripped and through in with my clean aluminum. It was the big stuff so it was easy to strip.

Sell it as insulated aluminum wire or strip it and sell it as clean aluminum wire. These two are their own classes of aluminum scrap.

Cans always bring the best price for aluminum.

It depends what part of the country you're in. In my area we have bottle deposit laws, so local yards don't get much UBC. When they do, it's treated as a lower grade aluminum such as O/S. I get better prices for extruded, mixed clip, rims and clean aluminum wire.

Not even close. If you're in a deposit state, you should return them for the deposit. There's a long thread with updated can prices if you're really interested.
