I just now saw this. Almost $4k is very impressive!

What kinds of items did this come from? I have no idea where I could even try to find scrap silver!
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

I buy most of it from scrap yards. It's items that people sell to them over the scale as brass, thinking they are just plated items. It's mostly items like plates, candlesticks, cups and flatware. The people that sell it to the yards are primarily getting it from the trash, so it's good save where everyone makes money. The scrap yard makes the most on the deal, and I'm the final link in the chain before the refinery where it is processed.

If you have something that has a silver color, I strongly recommend learning how to tell if it's solid silver or just silver plated. There is a huge difference in price!
