I buy most of it from scrap yards. It's items that people sell to them over the scale as brass, thinking they are just plated: plates, candlesticks, cups and flatware. The people that sell it to the yards are primarily getting it from the trash, so it's good save where everyone makes money. The scrap yard makes the most on the deal, and I'm the final link in the chain before the refinery where it is processed.

If you have something that has a silver color, I strongly recommend learning how to tell if it's solid silver or just silver plated. There is a huge difference in price!

Yep low. Good thing scrap yard by my work as not worth it to drive there. This was broken tower fans, bbq grill frame, ceiling fan with blades on it, and lots of other small shred items. It was a full truck load. If I would have taken it to the land fill that would cost me $15.00.
