Any value in remote controls?

Is there any value in taking apart remote controls for their circuit boards?

I've seen gold contacts in older remotes, so you decide what your time is worth.

My yard pays 2 to 4 cents a pound for boards. I throw all I get in a bucket until there is enough worth weighing.
Pedal to the metal.

I sell universal remotes to a local pawn shop for 1 to 2 dollars each that I find garage saling for free or a quarter. Big thing is having the instructions with them, or a website on the back that will take them to directions.

Remotes sell on ebay for a good bit especially if they are a good brand. Old ones do really well. Much better than scrap.
