Poultry shed roofing?

I may have an opportunity to salvage a large amount of corrugated roofing from chicken houses. It's corrugated steel, and I suppose galvanized. I'm guessing it's about 26ga. Has anyone scrapped galvanized sheet metal? Do the yard pay less for it? More? And can anyone tell me what is the most common metal gauge used for this application? I'm guessing at the 26ga, but it might be heavier.

By me it would go in with the sheet iron and would be .095 a pound for it.

Worth more as roofing materal unless it is really bad. Any time we put tin in the local paper it is gone in a few days.

This. That stuff has a myriad of agricultural uses for starters. If not for roofing material, they make good fencing material.

Poultry sheds are pretty cheap construction generally.... I would assume it's probably 29 gauge steel. If it can't be reused - you should actually get a little premium from the yard for clean sheet. At my yard I get $220/ton for shred and $230/ton for clean sheet. There's less weight there than you may think. 26 gauge is only around 1 lb per square ft... so 29 can't be much more than .8 lbs per sq ft.
