just started holding gold plated electronics

Hi all,

There was a great link a little while back to a site that explains and has videos for the process of taking gold plated pieces from old electronics.

THe videos show the guy taking apart motherboards, and i believe it also has other videos looking at the refining process. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?

I'd like it or any other links that tell you what parts of electronics are precious metals. I figure why not hold it if you have it...

Thanks!

I am also interested... I do recall seeing something... I think the guy was laser steve or something. I have been on the road overseas for the past few years, and I am now in an area where I could start.

I see boxes of them all the time at auctions. They usually go pretty cheap. Is there a market for these things?

Anyone thinking of doing there own refining should be warned. There are very serious penalties for anyone caught doing it, especially when it comes to the disposal of toxic sludge. We specialize in computers and electronics but we leave the refining to professionals. Do some research and you will see some of the health risks as well. Just a piece of friendly advice so that you can be well informed. Good luck
