seems like all the can buyers in tucson are in cahoots. one drops a couple cents and they all rush to lower their offer. so , now the one place that has not dropped. is so swamped, it is hard to get in .

bring them to a guy who matches the add + 1 cent. That's how I got .81 per pound last time

I crush my cans and store them in yard waste bags in my garage until I have enough to bring in. Luckily, I've got plenty of room for them, so I let them build up to a good amount before cashing them in.

There are expensive machines like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXC9IG9TbGU) that are able to crush your cans into very small 22 pound cubes about 10 inch cubed. If you do it manually like me, which is time consuming, you can still achieve great storage compactness.

Try and find an old kitchen trash compactor. They seem to work well for crushing.

I work in a construction business and one of our clients was remodeling their kitchen and tossing out their trash compactor - I snagged it just for this reason, but it never worked like I expected it too. Didn't have enough force to compact it fully.
