Hauled in a few more cars and the scrap guy has a box from a tractor trailer so I negotiated a deal that includes setup and delivery. Actual cost out of pocket is $100 as I traded scrap for the rest. Now I have 1 place to put all of my car parts.

That's awesome to have a storage unit of some kind that isn't rented. I miss not having a garage to pile stuff in, I've been using a spare bedroom, a really tiny storage unit, and the back of my truck. I'm bringing in some metal later this week, although I might go next week since it may be less busy. I'm still not very good at separating everything properly. I have sheet aluminum, cast, tubes, two stainless sinks, a box of circuit boards, box of wire, and a couple of batteries. I could have scrapped a jazzy from the scooter store which went out of business for scamming medicaid, but I just took the wires and batteries off it and pushed it into a dumpster and to the landfill it goes. I'm just not good at scrapping iron yet, and I didn't feel like taking it apart. Maybe I didn't need to take it apart.. I spend allot of time taking things apart and it seems hardly worth it. This last week I scrapped an Imac, maybe I should have kept the aluminum it came in but so much plastic and crap was attached to it I just tossed it to the landfill. Again, I had these cast aluminum cable outlets with the stainless steel where the cable attaches, couldn't get them apart, so to the landfill it goes, if I can't separate the metal the scrap yard complains so I just throw it to the landfill gods instead.

All the stuff you are throwing away can be sold for scrap metal for probably $100 a ton
If you have the time and it doesn't cost you anything to mess around continue to do what you are doing
If you have other stuff going on I would re-evaluate your system

Instead of the landfill you may find other scrappers that are willing to take your sheet iron. Better than the landfill.

Also check with your yard they should have dirty aluminum, dirty brass and dirty stainless steel prices. Sometimes it is better to take an item in as dirty vs. breaking it down

Thanks to the guys for the comments on my questions about what's worth to scrap and what's not, and please excuse my poor attitude here. I brought in some of my aluminum/stainless parts, 5 cents, I'm a little bummed how can aluminum and stainless steel together be only worth 5 cents/lb. Well .. now I know why so much of this metal I pull out of the dumpster is going to the landfill, it's not even worth it to recycle, which is really, really sad because of the carbon load. Is it even worth it for me to stop so much of this metal from going to the landfill, my gas/time, nope I'm losing money. Who's going to haul 100 lbs. of aluminum/stainless mix metal in to get only 5 dollars? I'm getting 5 old pentium computers next week, I'm just going to pull the ram/processors, and dump them into the landfill, the circuit boards/power supplies, iron, next to no value, I will actually be throwing gold into the landfill. I've got about 50 lbs. of aluminum left here that I just need to pound on for probably 4 hours to get clean, it's going to the landfill. I had a whole box of circuit boards, even one from a playstation 3!, I look at this circuit board, all I can see is layers of copper!, it was my heaviest circuit board, near worthless. Many of the circuit boards had copper windings all over them, not even worth it! Yah get 4 cents for bringing a 2 lb. hard drive in..
SO .. I went to the scrapyard today.
Sheet Iron 17@125/tn ---- 1.07
Cast - Clean Auto 32 @ 170/tn ---- 2.72
Old Sheet Aluminum 16@ .39 ---- 6.24
Old Cast Aluminum 59@.38 ---- 22.42
Aluminum breakage 4 @.05 ----.20 cents!
Yellow brass solids 2@1.56 ---- 3.12
#2 insulated copper 35 @.89 ----31.15
Auto batteries 50 @.24 ----12.00
Die cast 2 @.45 ----.90
18.8 stainless steel 20 @.28 ---- 5.60
Electric motors 1@.13 ----.13
Small copper transformer 2 @.02 ---- .04
Low grade board 12 @.05 ---- .60
