Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2018 11:55 pmIt depends on the circumstances. A company called Odyssey Marine Exploration found a sunken ship that had LOTS of gold on it. They ended up going to court and lost to the Spanish government.
I found a $100 bill once (in 2006). To the best of my knowledge nobody came forward to claim it.

Posted: Fri Jun 22, 2018 8:58 pm5 cent Euro from Espana in the trash can next to the coin counter at my bank. I don't need to wash my hands after digging around in the trash can because I always wear gloves and sunglasses and a ski mask when I walk in the bank.
