Well I got 41 bucks. I'm sure I would have done better If Id listed in smaller lots. But it was an easy score and I'm ready to do more.
I bought more stuff. I'm into this 67 bucks. There are some really cool old gas fixtures in here.

The buggle and mouth piece are worth something as instruments. not sure about the buggle, but the mouth piece appears to go to a trombone, and those go for 40-60 new.

This is a great thread. I have got to start paying attention to all the random stuff I usually pass up or look at as just scrap.

I'm sure you can find crappy old bow rakes for a buck of so at a yard sale.

They get between $10-25 plus shipping on e-bay

It looks like people use them for stemware racks.

So imagine you are living in a NYC apartment and you want to hang your wine glasses on a unique rack, such as a rusty bow rake.

Paying $25 bucks for one on e-bay will be infinitely cheaper then trying to find one yourself.

For every ass there is a saddle!

Nice work Thogey - love the brainstorming on how to get more for "scrap" items.

Selling the keys and the pencils impresses me, but the old home movies just baffles me. Who in the world would buy old home movies?

I imagine old home movies could provide a great insight into a specific time period or geographic location. If someone was doing research for a novel or film, they could be very useful.

Some people also collect almost anything related to a certain region or their home town/city. Whenever selling items like this on eBay, if you can identify the town, city and/or state in the title and listing you will often get more bids and higher offers.

Maybe film students or artists who can use the non-copyrighted material somehow for a project? Or maybe even for retro clip to put in a nostalgic commercial. That or just weirdos :?

I recently sold a lot of ladies jeweled watch movements on ebay. Listed twice and couldn't get a bid at $1.00 a piece. Third time I listed the lot I added "Steampunk" to the description, and sold the lot at $2.50 per piece!
