I found two small radiators. I think they are from a window AC unit. I am not going to take them apart in any way. So are they going to be just light iron or somehting more valuable?

Thanks.

Here's a photo. The bigger one is about 2' X 1.5' in size. As I said, I am trying to avoid cutting off the U-shaped copper pipes or doing anything to them other than to take them to a scrap yard. :-)

im not a 100% but i think they pay irony aluminium price for coils you can take plyers and grab those u shaped copper they break right off or run a sawzall down the side if you going to scrap them you might as well get the copper off probly take you 5 min and put a little more $$$ in your pocket

They will be classified as dirty aluminum/copper radiators at most yards because they have steel brackets. Clean copper/alum rads are going for over $1.00/lb right now at decent yards. As is, these will not get that price.

If you cut off the copper ends and pull off the brackets you should get clean copper/aluminum radiator price for them plus #1 or #2 copper price for the removed tubes.

Copper tubes cut very easily, even with just a hacksaw.

If you don't want to cut off the copper tubes, that's ok because you'll get a good price (better than aluminum for sure) for them whole. good luck.

Like others said, you will get dirty price as is. I use a saws all and cut down to get the steel off then use a pry bar to remove the loops. I called tuesday and clean they would bring 1.60 per pound here. Have never took them as dirty but expect about half the price or less.

Take a sawsall and cut off the copper loops. They cut like butter! Steel comes off and then 1.15 a pound for the raidator like that. Much more for the copper

Irony aluminum by me is at .20 a pound

To give you an example of the price differences a yard near me will pay $1.45 per pound for clean aluminum/copper radiators. Dirty ones with the steel ends are $1.30 per pound.
