Looking for ideas for speeding up wire stripping. I've got my own shop and a neighbor is a welder and another is a machinist, so they're willing to help manufacture parts or pieces. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What exactly are you stripping? Size and type of wire makes a huge difference when running it through a stripper.

Common household wiring.

You could make two rollers. The outside edge of one roller would have a "V" shape. The other roller needs a sharp outside edge. Hook both rollers up to a motor (you probably need to gear down the motor). Make the sharp roller adjust up and down into the "V" roller. This should make a self feeding wire stripper.

Good luck.

On second thought, maybe one roller should be free spinning and one roller should be hooked to the motor. I think this way would be lots easier to make.

I stripped about 200' of 12-2 today using a piece of angle iron. I had to cut the wire into 3' pieces to make it easier. I drilled a hole larger than the copper wire right in the corner of the angle iron, put it in my vice. Skinned about an inch of insulation off each piece, put the copper end through the hole, grabbed it with vice grips and pull. Worked great til I got a hold of some that had a real plasticy insulation, all it did was ball up. But for the most part, me and the dog had fun.

He loves to play keep away and unfortunately I had my shop door open, so he was hauling things off left and right. Plus when I have gloves on that means chew time, so when I pulled the wire he was there to help (in his way).
Actually the pulling was fairly easy, thats why I cut the pieces down to 3'.
