This will be my 1st year scrapping during the holiday season. I am assuming there will be more goodies curbside on thrash day folling Christmas ( TVs, Computers, CRTs, Microwaves, Lites, etc). My question for all the veterans out there is.... "am I right in my assumption?"

Last year I remember picking up a washing machine and a couple old and bent sets of folding tables and chairs out of the snow after Christmas. I've also yanked lights off trees sitting at the curb. Our city would not pick up that tree if it still had stuff on it, so I did those people a favor by getting their tree picked up.

It was fun!

Just depends on the weight. Generally shreddable steel (what most appliances are considered) is going for around 8 cents a pound. A washer weighs probably 125 - 150 pounds, so 10 - 15 bucks.

I think I got about $7 for the washing machine after I stripped out the motor and any wires. I was'nt getting much for steel at my yard last year.

I must have been naughty because I hardly found anything id contribute to it being xmass. The fact that it snowed rather then naughtiness was more likely the reason ..lol
