Anybody deal with these guys yet? They supposedly pay better prices but don't advertise them. They are bidding on stuff on ebay. http://rapid-recycling.com/

Prices would be nice! And they want 69 pounds of stuff in a flat rate box.

Read the "how it works" section carefully. With the amount of work it takes to break down material to fit exactly 68 or 69 lbs in a flat rate box, you're better off selling what you have to a reliable local yard.

EDIT: And how is this process "rapid?" I can take my copper and brass to my local yard today and get cash, or I can spend several hours squeezing it into a flat rate box to ship off and possibly get paid next week, with a check that will be placed on a standard x-business day hold at my bank.

  I don't know. I thought it was interesting but yes. Fitting 68 pounds into that must be difficult. Maybe somewhere the scrap yard is difficult to get to. My local scrap yard pays poorly. I have not tried the others yet.

I've seen people post prices that they've received for insulated copper wire and thought that they could do much better mailing them to another scrapyard. I suppose it boils down to how long it takes to stuff it in a box.

Ive sent them a message and im a little disappointed as to their prices
#1 $2.95
#2 $2.75

I recycle around 500-700 pounds of copper(not including brass or my cpr/alum radiators) so i figured they would be a bit higher but i am wrong?
i guess it wouldnt be a bad deal if you didnt have access to a recycling center close to your house

Those are not bad prices for copper judging by places around here (Cincinnati). But you are losing time and money shipping, plus how could you fit 68lbs of pipe into a box? I guess if you live somewhere in Montana 100 miles from the nearest scrapyard it could be worth it.
