While everyone else was sleeping off the effects of last night I was up and out the door early.
Started out nicely with large chunks of steel from a broken leaf spring!
11 lb 12 oz steel
11 oz pop cans
7 oz tire weights
1 oz copper wire
3 pennies
Good luck to all you scavengers, scrappers, and hunters this year!

As a rock hound also I love leaf spring ends as they work better than chisels You can buy as they hold a tip better can't remember if you are in AZ or not. I'm in Quartzsite AZ now but will return to Junction City, Oregon end of Feb. Would do a flat rate box deal if they would fit 3 or 4 pieces. Only need 5 to 10 inch chunks if they are the tapered ends, far better than scrap price

Very sorry to report that I scrapped them before your message!
However, any more I find shall be yours!

I went this morning, but the majority is stuff from work.
My road scraps are like free gas money to get there.
My yearly average of scrap is around $1000

This morning I spotted a dollar bill tightly rolled up like a straw. The center had residue of God-knows-what
and it looked like something was snorted through it.
Additionally, I continue to find dozens of the little N2O steel cartridges. They are used by brainless morons in their
cars to get high.
America, what a country.................
3 lb 1 oz steel
11 oz pop cans
7 oz tire weights
1 dollar
8 pennies
2 dimes

48 lb 3 oz steel

3 lb 5 oz tire weights
1 lb 13 oz copper/brass
1 lb aluminum
1 golf ball
$3.11 cash

Tom, it looks like you will be able to start selling socket sets. I can't believe you have found 4 pieces so far this year. Keep up the search. BTW, I found a handful of wheel weights myself this week!

Around this time of year, everyone is throwing everything out? Do you search these piles and add them to your list?

In Arizona its a bit different. Since the winter weather really isn't winter, there isn't much spring cleaning.
However, I do keep a lookout for large items and will go back later in the truck if it is worth it.
