Computer wire

Hey all, I am interested in scrapping stuff and I have an insatiable thirst for copper. I found a cord at the dump today for free (small stuff I know lol) I opened it up it has 3 wires with copper in them, and then it has this blue tin foil stuff around it and in the very middle theres a wire that looks like aluminum. I read it is called SVT shielded. What is that middle wire? Aluminum?
