why is pie pan AL 1/5 the price of AL cans?

It should not be, but the big buyers of UBC's want only can stock thats why cans pay more. I try and mix the pie pans in with my MLC aluminium. And am going to add any aluminium foil that I have to my dirty alum when I turn it in...

I recycled 11 lbs. I got them from a function that the VFW put on... cleaned them all only got $.10 a pound. I am glad that they are getting recycled, and I think my local scrap yard treats me fair... I was just wondering what makes them worth so much less.

I take a lot of that type of stuff and smash it with a sledge hammer and then put in the aluminum can and smash the can. I get the AL can price for them. :lol: :thumbup:

This is what I do w/ Al from SPAM cans (the product by Hormel).....
