A little chilly out there early in the morning this time of year. So I waited until noon on Saturday to go out for the
first time in 2015, but it hurts the loose change finds at drive through windows!

13 oz pop cans
1 lb 10 oz steel
2 oz tire weights

2 golf balls

4 lb rechargeable battery - like the ones used on a cordless drill? I guess you can scrap the lead?

I also find it interesting the amount of hand tools you find.

The battery looks like one you would get in an emergency light fixture, worth about 75 cents.

The tools are likely falling out of engine compartments, misplaced by those shade tree mechanics.

Your posts are inspiring and insightful into the amount of casual waste generated by our society.

The tools are more likely falling out of the backs of pickup trucks, or out of unsecured tool cabinets. Also, routinely tools are left on bumpers or the tops of vehicles, then when they hit a bump they fall off.

The best item I found on the side of the road last year: 11 full cans of beer. I think some highschoolers had a party and dumped their leftovers.

I have found full cans of beer too!

If there was a practical way to gather all the scrap strewn over the American highways you would be a rich man.
