Plastic computer fans as motors?

Postby ilyaz » Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:15 am

I've collected a box of plastic fans that are usually attached to desktop chassis and to CPU heat sinks. They are mostly plastic but they do have tiny motors with copper inside. Has anyone tried to scrap those as motors? Thanks.

Sell them intact as electric motors.

Some yards are very picky about plastic getting in their electric motors and will either not buy them or will want them prepared a certain way.
