Ive been gathering up a lot of computer/TV/Monitor power cords and misc other cords. I have been basically just busting them open somewhat awkwardly with a bunch of different tools. I really don't want to go out and buy some big machine for stripping these cords. I was wondering, what do you guys do with these cords? I was thinking of using a box cutter somehow to pull the wires across just to cut them open and pull out the bunch of thin copper wires. I like to do this while I listen to the peter schiff show. Incase anyone does know about his show, its really great so check it out! http://www.schiffradio.com/ you can listen to a continuous loop of his latest show (Mon-Fri) on the far right side.

I haven't been, but in the dim and distant past, I recall seeing that someone had drilled a hole in a block of wood and inserted a cutting blade. I don't recall what it was for, but you could make one easily enough and use that for round cords. Need to reset the blade depth for different diameter cords, though.

Alternatively, a "V" notch with a swing arm to capture the cord and press it against a sharp edge?

I tried something like that and it did not work well.

I just put them in a barell and take them as coated when I get a good load up.

I totally agree. Cords are too much effort for too little reward.
